We built a better product than Intercom.
Intercom and other help desks were too advanced and charged for every feature on the planet. Other help desks had the same issue. The free ones sucked. After not finding a good help desk to use, we built NewDesk.
Support software got bigger. Support got worse.
Every help desk we tried answered the same way: more views, more macros, more automations to maintain. The queue never shrank. It just acquired a user interface that took a week to learn and a day to live in.
Meanwhile the customers on the other side were meeting a bot that would not let them past. Not because anyone decided that was good, but because deflection was the number on the dashboard.
NewDesk is the opposite bet. Hand the queue to the assistant your team already has open, keep a person one click away for the customer, and stop charging for the part that does the work.

2019
the year we got tired of the eleven tabs
Four things we will not trade.
They are product decisions, not values on a wall. Each one costs us something, which is how you can tell we mean them.
A person is never behind a gate
The assistant answers anyone who wants it and traps nobody. "Talk to the team" is on screen from the first message, not unlocked after two failed attempts.
The invoice does not punish success
We refuse to bill per AI resolution. A price that climbs the better the product works is a price that is arguing with you.
Every write is on the record
Anything the assistant does is on the record: which conversation, what it was asked, what it sent back, and whether a person set it off. No silent actions.
Your data leaves as easily as it arrived
Full export, documented API, no proprietary archive format. Staying should be a decision you keep making, not one you cannot undo.
How we got here.
Eleven tabs
We ran support for a small shop out of a help desk that owned our whole day. The tool was fine. Living in it was not.
The first draft
A shared inbox with a model reading it, built for ourselves. It answered the repeat questions and left the rest alone.
MCP changed the shape
Once assistants could call tools, the interface stopped being the point. We rebuilt the whole desk as twenty-four of them.
No tab to go back to
Teams run their morning queue from the assistant they already had open. The desk is still there. They just stop needing it.
The people on the other end.
Everyone here takes a shift in our own queue, including both founders. It is the shortest route to knowing what is broken.
